tractor riding

i got up with jordan this morning and went with him to work to ride in the tractor with him. it was all great until a disc broke and we had to haul everything back to their shop. it was fun while it lasted and i'll have plenty more opportunities to do that coming up with planting!

i just back last night from 3 days in kansas with my parents. my aunt and uncle and cousins from wisconsin were on vacation and stopped there to spend the night and hang out a little. it was fun to catch up with them! then my brother came and i got to spend some time with him on thursday before i left. it was a hard goodbye though, as he just joined the ARMY and flies out to kentucky on tuesday for basic training.

the time is getting closer and closer when we will get to move into our new place! we have some paint color and carpet decisions to make and a little work to do first. but i can't wait to have our own place! grampa's place is truly a blessing - but we had all those plumbing problems, the dryer quit working and now the washer, and there's only so much organizing you can do to make the place put-together when we're living here temporarily. so i'm excited!
oh and i start orientation at work next wed. - fri.

my other neice, susanna, is still having a horrible time sleeping @ night and its not easy on mom, julia, either. (susanna is 5.5 months old)
please pray for my friend, jamie, as she is in her last 6 months of a 2 year trip in the middle east.

New Job!

so i just accepted a job doing home health and hospice! i'm excited about this and about working part time! the Lord has sure blessed me with this open door! this job will be much better paced than at the busy hospital, i'll get lots of time to spend with patients and their families. it will be neat to go into their homes and meet them in their world. this job is very flexible and i will be working with some amazing women! i can't see myself enjoying another job around here anymore than i think i will this one!
i'll still have a lot to learn - directions to all these places! insurance and managing the total care of my patients. drawing blood. . . i've started hundreds of IVs but we have phlebotomists to draw all the blood, RT's to do all the breathing treatments. . etc. but that won't be bad!

this is turning out to be a yucky week with allergies. i wake up sneezing and blowing my nose every morning. i'm so ready for spring, the warm warm sun!

yesterday i went to kearney - its over an hour away and you have to basically plan a whole day trip. i stocked up on groceries - lots of fresh produce! strawberries and pineapple!!! and got a few new shirts for work! had a hard time finding any good pants though.

ok i have tons of dishes to do. here there is no dishwasher. i am the dishwasher! and they never end! especially when i'm cooking so much!

poopy plumbing!

so the plumbing here at grampa ed's house started .... not working. let's just say we haven't been able to use the potty in the last 2 days. couldn't get a plumber to come out. so today, my brother, dave, and jordan rented a "snake" to thread down through the plumbing. first they did it outside from a point in the yard. then came in and took the toilet off and snaked from that site to unclog the pipes! now the whole house smells like a sewer! at least hopefully we can use our toilet, faucets, and do laundry soon!

leap year baby!

i got to spend a week in colorado with my sis and her family! my nephew, phoenix was born on february 29th! i got to spend a lot of time taking care of my 18 month old neice, zadie - waking up with her @ 6-6:30 every morning, having breakfast together, changing diapers, filling juice cups, visiting mommy, daddy, and baby brother in the hospital, playing and laughing! my brother and i completely cleaned their apartment while they were in the hospital so it was nice to come home to. it was so much fun to help out, hang out, and see my sweet neice and nephew! man i love those kids!!!!

so this is my new blog. . . obviously. just trying it out for fun.
my newborn nephew is coming home with mommy and daddy today! my brother and i have been taking care of his big little sister, zadie and having so much fun with her! phoenix michael was born on feb. 29 ~ LEAP YEAR BABY!
